I would like to wish everyone a happy & healthy New Year.
I haven’t had much time to update my site in a long time. I’ve been very busy with different projects.
For the last month I’ve been building a Fiberglass room to lay out the fiberglass and cut it for the repairs jobs that I do. The rolls of fiberglass that I use weight around 500 lbs. a roll. So I’m building a device that will hold four rolls of different weaves of fiberglass, and be able to roll it around, and cut what I need.
What I’m finding out is that when you get older it gets tougher lugging out a 500 lb. roll of fiberglass to cut out a section to do a repair job. My bones & joints are starting to feel that now.
After this room is done then I have to do the dreaded income taxes & bills. This can take three weeks. After that I’m looking at a very big fiberglass job that may take a month to do.
My goal this year is to get more info. on the site. A step by step Photo Process so the boat owner can do these jobs himself.
I would like to have a section on:
(1) How to Buff your boat.
(2) How to take your boat off the Trailer.
(3) How to mix Gel-Coat to fill in chips.
(4) More Photos of what to look out for when buying a used boat.
So I like to wish everyone a Super Safe 2008 Boating Season.

Here is a site with good information on Flooded Cars & Boats.
I saw this article in the newspaper about how many people get taken with Flooded Cars & Boats that they brought. What these dealers do is buy a car cheap that was flooded, clean it up, and then register the car or boat in different states a couple times until the title comes up clean through all the paperwork involved. Then they sell it saying that it’s a super clean and never had any damage to it. That’s until you buy it, then the problems start.
This organization tracks all of this information through the insurance companys. All you have to do is type in your Boat Hin # or Car Vin # and hopefully you won’t find your boat on their list.
This service is Free. So if your looking to buy a boat or car make sure you get the VIN # and then type it into this site.

I can’t believe how much rain we got this spring. This weather has set back many marinas from getting the boats ready to go in the water by a month.
Now comes the mad rush for me to repair these boats. I’m putting in 14 hour days 7 days a week just to catch up with the jobs.
During this time I’ve been testing out a cheap buffer that boat owners can use. I’ve seen many boat owners use the wrong buffer to compound their boats. The people that I seen buffing their boat where using a orbital buffer. That’s the worse buffer ever, the only thing that buffer does is gives you Popeye arms. You need a direct drive buffer if you want to bring up the gel-coat shine.
Well I’m very impress with this buffer. I use a Professional buffer that I paid about $300.00 for it. This cheap buffer was only $50.00 with a variable speed control to buff around the cleats on the boat without losing your arm doing it. I like it so much that I brought two more buffers to use as a backup.
This buffer is much lighter then my professional one. I buff for five hours straight with it and my arms felt great. With my other buffer I could only use it for an hour at a time, my arms would be killing me.
This is the same buffer in my contest. So enter and maybe you’ll win this setup.

Finally done. Eight months, Hundreds of photos, some sleepless nites, time to take a break from it and get back to working on Boats.
Their are many more things that I want to add to this site. My goal is to make this site user friendly and to educate first time boat buyers. The horror stories that where told to me over the years prompted me to put this site together.
In my Helpful Buying Tips Section, I show you what to look out for when buying a used boat. I’ll be adding more photos and content to this section over time.
In my Do it Yourself Boat Repairs Section, you’ll get many free Tips on taking care of your boat without costing you an arm and a leg. This too will be built up over time.
This site works best in Internet Explorer. When I open this site in Firefox some of the links don’t work. So I guess I have some bugs that have to be worked out. If someone out their knows anything about Firefox or Wordpress I would appreciate the help.
If you have any comments about this site or any questions e-mail me back and I’ll see if I can help you out.
So enjoy your visit and come back often.
